See how other students have taken their applications to the next level!
I can’t thank Mr. Ireta enough for helping my child not only graduate from high school but do so with honors. My son graduated this spring 2021 and is headed to Texas A&M with a scholarship in the honors engineering program. I don’t believe this would have been possible if it wasn’t for the guidance and concern that Mr. Ireta showed my son. Despite his heavy workload, managing around 500-600 students, he always made each student feel important and addressed all issues rapidly, as if your child was the only one at the school who needed advisement and assistance. He wore many hats and had many job obligations. Newbury Park High School is a wonderful school but like most public high schools in California, there are too many students and not enough funding. Mr. Ireta had to put out fires all day every day, and he did it with kindness and true concern for each student. When my son walked across the stage during graduation, I thought Mr. Ireta’s name should have also been included on his diploma.
The service was great. I had my essays prepared already, but my counselor, Jose Ireta, helped me restructure them in ways I never thought of. What came out was far superior than anything I had written prior. He helped me a lot in managing word count and also shortening long sentences into neat little phrases that made the essay cleaner than before.
Our experience with Jose Ireta was great. The service was vital in making sure we did not miss anything during the strenuous application process. Our counselor, was amazingly helpful and amicable throughout the process, and our decision to buy this service will not be regretted.
Josè helped me so much in terms of the college application process. Before talking to my counselor, I was not aware of many of the actions needed to complete a solid college application. These include writing the several essays, declaring majors, and using the different application services such as the Common App. Additionally, I was able to receive helpful assistance in financial aid and finding a college that was the right fit for me. I appreciate all that this service has been able to do for me!
Jose was very easy to work with from the get go. All our process questions were answered very thoroughly so there were no surprises. He is very knowledgeable and does video conferencing meetings as needed. We moved from India last year and some of my son’s international grades were not transferred correctly. Our counselor Mr. Jose guided us to come up with a solid case to put in front of the principal and school district. Finally, the school converted his international grades to US grades. He also guided my son to make right choice of subjects during summer and this academic school year based on his career interest. So far we are very happy with our choice.
I can’t count the number of times I went to Mr.Ireta for advice- about college, classes, and scholarships. He is incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. There were a number of times that I applied to scholarships at the last minute, as that was the only way I could afford college. I would frantically come into the office and there was Mr.Ireta- calm and ready to help me in whatever way was necessary. He knows that ins and outs of the college system and often goes out of his way to prepare students for the college application process. He didn’t have to deal with my frequent unscheduled arrivals at his office, but in his patience and drive to help students succeed, he would welcome me to take a seat and talk through whatever I was having trouble with. I know that I am where I am today because of how Mr.Ireta got to know me personally and went above and beyond to ensure my success!
The first time I had a conversation with Mr. Ireta was when I was in 8th grade and just beginning to think about the next four years and college after that. From the very beginning, Mr. Ireta was a guide to me and I can positively say that throughout my high school experience at Newbury Park High School, Mr. Ireta was always there to guide me, whether that be about preliminary questions about college or when I got serious about college applications in my junior year. With his guidance and enthusiasm, the college admission process was made easy and surprisingly fun. I truly have to say that a major contributor to the fact that I was admitted to UC Berkeley, where I currently study, was Mr. Ireta.
Mr. Ireta was always willing to entertain my crazy ideas and thought outside of the box to make things work for me. Because of him, I had the opportunity to do all that I wanted to do in high school. His willingness to go above and beyond really means the world to me. I couldn’t have asked for a better counselor. My academic advisor at USC has big shoes to fill!
The moment I met Mr. Ireta, I knew that he was kind and hardworking. At that time, I had no idea how much he would end up doing for me over the next few years of high school. He was honestly the most accessible counselor ever. I knew that I could walk into his office at any time and he would talk with me about whatever was on my mind, from our chats in Spanish to our discussions on Indian culture, I am glad that I also got to know Mr. Ireta as the fascinating and energetic man that he is. I owe a lot of my success in the college application process to his commitment and reliability as my mentor. I couldn’t have gotten everything done without him. Stanford University was a huge victory and Mr. Ireta deserves a lot of credit for his commitment.
Dear Mr. Ireta,
I would like to let you know that my son, Christopher is accepted to Stanford. And I believe he is going to accept the offer.
I would like to say thank you for everything you have done for my son since freshman. Without your guidance, support and dedication, he will not be where he is today. We are extremely lucky and grateful to have you as his counselor.
